Working between The Old Dairy, deep in the Kent countryside and at The Printhouse in the heart of East London, Milkwood is a small but perfectly formed company of highly skilled cabinet makers, finishers and fitters serving London and the South East.
We've been designing and handcrafting custom furniture for homes across London, Kent, Sussex and beyond since 2000.
In early 2019 we opened a second workshop at The Printhouse in Dalston, North East London. Our sister workshop, Milkwood London, now serves the capital with beautifully designed and perfectly built, fitted furniture.

We hand make every piece of individual bespoke fitted furniture to the highest possible standards. Carefully sourcing and matching the materials we use, to completing everything from the initial design sketches, to spray finishing by our expert craftsmen.
Even though we still give ourselves splinters from time to time, we’re proud to preserve the legacy of traditional furniture makers, using our hands to create beautiful bespoke furniture that’s perfect for you.

Milkwood is a company of expert furniture makers and craftsmen, hand-making wooden furniture from wardrobes to bookcases at their workshop in the heart of Kent's beautiful countryside.
At Milkwood, we're dedicated to providing you with furniture that is not only timeless in design, but in construction. Our furniture is tailored to your requirements and made with only the best materials and by experts in their trades.
This isn't fast furniture, this isn't flat-packed. We make furniture with a legacy.
We work with you from the initial consultation, through the design stage to production and fitting. Our aftercare guarantee ensures that everything with your bespoke furniture piece is made and fitted to perfection.

Our materials
Only the best will do
We only source the very best materials available for our bespoke furniture, buying them at preferential rates to achieve stunning results within tight budgets.
Solid timber & real wood veneers are carefully selected and expertly matched across doors & panels then professionally spray finished in clear or stained lacquer.
All of our panel products are now sourced from a small, energetic young business based in the Kent Medway who, like ourselves, are keen to deliver on both quality and price.
Our European Oak comes from Orlestone Forest - which is on our doorstep. Other solid woods are sourced from our preferred local timber yard in Canterbury, Kent and yet more imported timbers come directly from Tilbury docks in Essex.
All the timbers we use are sustainable and FSC certified. We also have experience in sourcing highly ecological panel products, paints and other finishes.
